Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Doctors have diagnosed my daughter to have IBS. Is there a cure in homoeopathy?

Zia-ul-Haq

Wa-alaikumus salam wa rahmatullah,

I was sorry to learn about your daughter’s falling health. You are right, she is suffering from what the allopaths call IBS and unfortunately they do not have a cure for it, therefore, no wonder, nothing has worked so far in her case. In fact, there is no structural or biochemical explanation for the symptoms of IBS and since everything comes normal through the diagnostic tests, allopathic specialists, who base their prescriptions on the findings of these tests, have no basis to prescribe on!

Homoeopathy has a different approach. It does not treat a disease name but the whole person, taking into account all that characterize the patient as an individual including his/her past medical and family histories. For more information on this subject, please check the relevant sections of my website. Needless to say, this holistic approach has, by the grace of Allah, been successful in curing a number of cases where other treatments had failed.

May Allah help me to help all those who seek my assistance. Amen!

Stammering

Dear Mr. Mahmood, Wa-alaikumus salam

There are several remedies such as: cuasticum, veratrum, hyoscyamus, stramonium, merc sol, phosphorus, silicea, tuberculinum, argentum nit, bufo, belladonna, coccculus, etc., that can help a patient with stammering. Though you have given a good deal of information about your problem, yet a lot remains to be ascertained and that can only be done in a clinical setting.

Homoeopathy will help you, Inshah Allah but for that you will have to see a good homoeopath in your city. He will take your case and prescribe a medicine most suited to your problem.

Wishing you all the best,

Regards

Brain Tonics

Dear Mr. Salar, rulingsalar@yahoo.com

That is a common problem with most of brain-workers. There are more than 54 medicines for the condition you describe. For each individual patient, a different remedy has to be worked out depending upon the individual symptoms and that needs a detailed interview with the patient. I would, therefore, advise you to see a good homoeopath in your city.

For instructions on how to find a good homoeopath, please visit my website - http://www.homoeopathy.com.pk - and follow the links on the left.

I must take this opportunity to advise you not to use the so-called BRAIN TONICS as they can have serious side effects.

Depression and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Irfan, Lahore

A good number of patients with depression and OCD have benefited from homoeopahty and you, too, will, Inshah Allah.

Though you have given a detailed sketch of your symptoms, yet a lot remains to be ascertained, particularly, about your height, weight, intelligence, temperament, habits, education, appetite, thirst, the things you like the most and the things you hate, your bodily reaction to warmth and cold and certain food items, your past medical history, family medical history, etc. and that can only be done in a clinical setting. Please see an experienced homoeopath in Lahore.

Psoriasis

emad.ej@gmail.com
Madinatul Munawwara

Thank you for a reminder. The delay was because I wanted to give a detailed reply.

Psoriasis is one of the most defiant medical problems. Cases of recent origin have a good chance of being cured. Chronic cases (as yours) have less chance. My experience with treating Psoriasis patients has been one of quite disappointment. Of the 12-15 patients that I have seen over the past ten years, only one was cured. Most patients did not come back after first consultation. Only two continued treatment for more than 3 months. One (a case of only 1 ½ years standing in a patient of 18 years) was cured and the other (a case of 22 years standing in a patient of 37 years) did not improve a bit.

Now to your case. An initial reading points to some 20 plus remedies. A detailed study will bring the list down to 3 to 7 remedies. In the process, I will ask you a few questions in order to have a clearer picture of the case and then select the most suitable remedy from amongst the group of final 3-7 remedies. Whether you will benefit from homoeopathy or not cannot be predicted at this stage; that will largely depend on how your body responds to the selected medicine. If you are currently using any medicines that will have to be discontinued, including any creams. That may lead to some exacerbation of your condition for sometime to be followed by amelioration. I propose, you should give a period of three months to homoeopathy to see if it works in your case. That would need a lot of patience from your end.

My services are not free but I will not charge you my consultation fee, Inshaa Allah, because you live in Madina, the city of the Prophet (Sallalahu alaihe waalehi wassallam); however, you will have to procure the prescribed medicine(s) on your own because it is not my practice to dispatch medicines for overseas patients.

If you agree to the above and feel inclined to have my treatment, I can go about the exercise of selecting the most suitable remedy in your case.

Consultation through telephone

Dear Mr. Babar,

Though I have recently started providing consultation over the phone , yet I prefer them to see a local homoeopath for a number of reasons. A reading of Patient-oriented approach of my write-up available at http://www.homoeopathy.com.pk/different.htm will give you an idea, why I ask patients to see a homoeopath in person.

However, if some patients fail to access good homoeopathic care in their cities, they are asked to send my fees and a time is fixed for telephonic consultation.

Phobia

There are several remedies that have fear of death. A choice can be made after considering associated symptoms. Homoeopathy will Inshah Allah help you. Please see a good homoeopath in your city. E-consultation has its own limitations and discretions have to be made to see if a case is fit or e-consultation. Yours is not.

Please see a good homoeopath in your city.

Pimples/Acne

I frequently develop pimples over my face (specially cheek and chin area) which often get suppressed leaving a black mark over the face and internally forming cysts.

I wonder if you could help me heal this.
Jyoti, India

Dear Ms Jyoti,
Thank you for your interest in homoeopathy.
Homoeopathy can help you. In fact treating patients with pimples and acne is one of the areas of my interest. Only one medicine is prescribed and no topical applications are allowed.

You might know, homoeopathy takes an individualistic approach to every case; there are no disease-specifics. For more information on this, please check: http://www.homoeopathy.com.pk/different.htm

It is possible, you might find my procedure of dealing with such cases quite different from the ones you have hitherto been accustomed to. It will therefore be fine if you take a detailed tour of my website before proceeding further in the matter.

If you agree, I can e-mail you case-taking forms along with information on how to pay. Payment is to be made before e-mailing the case.

Empyema of gall-bladder

My mother has empyema of gall-bladder. According to the homeopath treating my mother, there are several remedies for empyema of other organs but there is no specific remedy for the empyema of gall-bladder. He has searched several repertories and even the Cara software. If you know of any such remedy, kindly let me know.
M. Nauman Afzal

In my view, search for specific remedies for “Empyema of gall-bladder” will bear no fruit. In homoeopathy disease name is just a nomenclature used for classification purposes and does not form a basis for selection of a remedy (For more details, please check: http://www.homoeopathy.com.pk/different.htm). Any remedy that (a) influences septic process, (b) is gall-bladder specific, (c) covers most of the accompanying symptoms (such as fever, chill, nausea, prostration, etc) and (d) does not contradict particular and general modalities of the case can have a claim for being selected for “Empyema of gall-bladder”.

In your mother’s case, one of the following medicines can be considered in the given order: China, Lachesis, Bryonia, Calc carb, Lycopodium, Phosphorus, Nux vomica, etc.

A study of different repertories on the above lines will bring out more remedies which can also be considered.

Keloid

Ijaz Ahmed, Lahore (1)

My daughter, aged 25, has a keloid just under her breastbone. Injections and laser therapy has not helped. Perhaps homeopathy can.

From your description, your daughter’s case does not seem to be that of a keloid. Keloids are an overgrowth of scar tissue at the site of a skin injury, resulting from such skin injuries as surgical incisions, traumatic wounds, vaccination sites, burns, chickenpox, acne, or even minor scratches, therefore, there is no question of your daughter having “a keloid under her breastbone”. I would advise you to consult a good female homoeopath in your city. Should she feel the necessity, she may refer the case for the opinion of a chest surgeon or a dermatologist.

Keloid

Ijaz Ahmed, Lahore (2)
The scar on my daughter's breast is not under the skin but above it just below the breast bone. It has been diagnosed as keloid by various leading skin specialists in Lahore. Treatments from creams and ointments to laser removal have been tried but to no avail.

Perhaps this clears any confusion caused by my last message.

I am sorry, I had misunderstood.

Injections, laser therapy and surgery seldom help keloids; homoeopathy does in some of the cases, depending on a number of factors. So, I would repeat, please consult a good female homoeopath in Lahore. For guidance on what to look for in a good homoeopath, please check the patient-guidance section of the website.

Can homoeopathy cure Hepatitis C?

Ejaz, Faisalabad

To my knowledge, so far, not a single documented account of the successful treatment of Hepatitis C has been published in any standard journal on homoeopathy though claims of treating it successfully abound.

Every case in homoeopathy is a new case, quite different from all identical cases though they may bear the same disease-name as homoeopathy does not treat the disease name e.g. Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Malaria, etc. Homoeopathy provides symptomatic treatment, basing its prescription on the signs and symptoms of the patient, as narrated by him or his attendants, observed by the physician and the findings of the investigation reports. Given this fact, I feel, homoeopathy should be able to treat an individual with Hepatitis C. That is why, I advised you to consult Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Chaudhry.

You are right, homoeopathy does not attempt to kill the virus nor can it do so. It aims at strengthening and fortifying the defence system of the body so that the virulence of the virus is staved off. To what extent such attempts are successful, I am not in a position to say with authority as such cases require long term monitoring and once the patient gets better, one loses sight of him forever, never knowing to what extent and for what duration did the treatment hold good?

As far the course of Interferon for six months is concerned, I am not in a position to offer comments. However, can give you a few suggestions:

1. Ask the specialist about the success rate of Interferon course.
2. Ask him if all the lab values would return to normal?
3. If the lab values return to normal, for how long will they hold good?
4. Request him if he can give you names of his former patients who have fully recovered under Interferon course?

I wish you all the best for your health,

Regards

E-consultation

Dear Mr. Afzal,

I was sorry to learn about your mother's health. To me, patient's health is more important than realizing my fees.

Some cases require personal supervision and are not at all fit for
e-consultation. Your mother's case falls in that category. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to recommend a good homoeopath in Rawalpindi. Please ask your friends and relatives, they may be able to refer you to someone they personally know. Secondly, homoeopathy has its scope and limitations. Not all cases qualify for homoeopathic treatment. A good homoeopath (May Allah help you in finding one!) knows his limits. After taking a detailed history, he will be in a position to tell, if homoeopathy is indicated in your mother's case.

For more details on finding a good homoeopath, please check:

Wishing your mother a quick recovery,
Sincerely
Ahmad Fakir Muhammad

Basics of homoeopathy

Nooruddin, Karachi

All the e-mails – except spam - landing into my inbox are personally seen and, if necessary, replied within two working days.

While I try to be as approachable and responsive as possible to my patients, I expect them to make themselves familiarized with the basics of homoeopathy. That can best be done by taking a tour of my website – http://www.homoeopathy.com.pk . Most of the patients have found it to be quite a revealing and rewarding experience. If you want to follow in the footsteps of such patients, please start with the main page and follow the links on the left. Your feedback to further improve the site will highly be appreciated.

I hope, the day is not far off when I will have your testimonial with the heading “A nasty ear infection cured by homoeopathy”, Inshah Allah.
